It was clear to everyone who encountered them that Iris B. and her mother, Belle W., shared a special and loving relationship. When Belle succumbed to a series of health challenges, the loss of this vibrant, "larger than life" personality deeply touched many, but most especially her family. The memorial gift from her daughter, Iris, and son-in-law, Ted, in honor of Belle's love of nature, was used to help construct a four season sunroom on the back of Deaconess House, overlooking the river. This space has enabled physically challenged residents to enjoy the outdoors all year round and remember Belle's love of nature.
