Seashore Point is the outer Cape’s only full-service residential community.  Opened in Spring of 2008, Seashore Point offers a type of living not available anywhere on the outer Cape.  Seashore Point, like Provincetown, is an open and welcoming community celebrating the unique diversity of all its residents.  See what makes us special.

Why would someone choose to live at Seashore Point?
People choose a community like this for various reasons.  The ones we hear the most include:

  • At Seashore Point you can enjoy restaurant style dining with friends – or cook in the privacy of your own home.
  • At Seashore Point there is an emergency response system right in your home that would alert someone immediately and get help right away.
  • At Seashore Point there is a full calendar of programs and events that you can choose from each week, including lectures, movies, exercise classes, and day trips.  It is especially nice, if you prefer not to drive at night, to be able to enjoy the company of friends and walk home in safety.
  • At Seashore Point you can live a maintenance-free lifestyle, allowing more time to do the things you enjoy.

What types of accommodations are available at Seashore Point?
There are a variety of floor plans available.  One-bedrooms and two-bedrooms of a variety can be chosen. (Studios are also available for those needing little space). Suite features include a full kitchen with refrigerator and ice-maker, glass-top stove and self-cleaning oven, microwave, dishwasher and garbage disposal as well as a stacking washer and dryer.  There is also a laundry room on the floor that offers a large capacity for blankets and comforters.  Heat and air-conditioning are individually controlled by you.

What other features does the community offer?

  • Seashore PointA lovely restaurant-style dining room serving lunch and dinner every day. A private dining room where you can entertain your family if you like or share with others in the community with a group bake-off or chef’s demonstration.
  • A climate-controlled fitness center where you can stay in shape even during the colder winter months or hot summer months.

  • Reserved parking for each resident.

What types of events and programs are available?
There is a fully planned schedule of things to do.  You can assist in the planning of thisschedule so that we plan things that youwant to do.  Programs may include: lectures and classes of a variety; exercise programs of a variety; social events such as wine and cheese receptions and local artists receptions and showings; committee meetings; shopping trips; music programs; armchair slide shows of worldwide locations; chef demonstrations; worship services; movies and more.  You decide what you want to do.

Are Pets allowed at Seashore Point?
Yes, small pets are allowed as long as the resident is capable of caring appropriately for that pet.  We like to meet the pet prior to them moving in.  We will also ask for a pet deposit to cover any additional costs created by having a pet.  Of course, if this is not needed, the deposit is refundable.

What if assistance is needed with daily activities?
Our residents can choose any or all of the services they need, while still living in their suite.  Some of these services might include: assistance with bathing and dressing, assistance with getting to the dining room, assistance with managing medications, or any other personal care services required.

What is the difference between a not-for-profit and a for-profit organization?
A not-for-profit operation reinvests any profits that are made, back into the organization.  They need to be financially solvent and able to cover their costs, but any overages that are made go towards updating equipment, offering better benefits to staff and increasing the services provided.  Seashore Point is its own 501(c)3 charitable organization and its parent company is Deaconess Abundant Life Communities – providing quality housing and services to older adults since 1889.  For more information about Deaconess Abundant Life Communities, visit the website at www.nedeaconess.org
